unboxing: Yogi Surprise Limited Edition Holiday Box 2014

Yogi Surprise is a fairly new subscription with only three months of boxes under their belts so far. When I got an e-mail about their first limited edition box a few weeks ago, I deliberated for a day before deciding that I had loved curation enough so far to take the leap and order one.

Yogi Surprise
Limited Edition
Holiday Box 2014
unboxing
Cost: $44.95 + free S&H with a promise of 8 full size yogi-centric items.

I ordered my box on November 14th and it shipped on December 17th via USPS Priority Mail 2-Day. It arrived yesterday, December 19th in the same signature purple box as the monthly shipments do.

On the info card is a URL for a "special gift". I visited, and it was a code for 20% off for the lifetime of a Yogi Surprise subscription (which I already have), and a special bonus item in the first box. The page states that all current subscribers who ordered this box will also receive a bonus in their January box, so I will let you know how that goes!

I like the festive snowflake tissue paper, and am saving it to use with my post-holiday gift exchange with friends :).

I count seven items (one is missing from the pic, I just realized!), so I'm guessing the 8th item is the one that will come in my January box? I'm not sure yet if these are all full-sized either, so let's dig in!

Yoga Infinity Strap Stretch in Orchid value $19.99

This strap was the only spoiler released prior to the shipment of these holiday boxes, and I knew I wanted one! I can't wait to try it out and see if it really can help my yoga practice :)!

This candle is so cool! It not only smells great, but it can be used as a candle as well as a massage oil and body butter! I'm prone to sore muscles from work, especially my back, and am always eager to find a natural version of Icy Hot. I hope this one works!

The trail mix was really tasty, and the caramels were even tastier! They are both gone now :). It's not a big deal to me, I'm not the strictest vegan I know or anything, but I will just point out that the caramels do contain milk and butter.

Metolius Mate Coco Spice Tea 1.6 oz tin value $10

The tea sounds interesting and delicious!: mate, coconut, chocolate, cinnamon, ginger, licorice, cloves, cayenne. I don't have a sore throat or anything but I tried one of the pastilles and found it to be Strongly flavored with a capital S. If I did have a sore throat, I don't think I would anymore.

Even though the retail value at $60.46 does cover the cost I paid for the box, I was a little underwhelmed. Of the seven items (when there were supposed to be eight), three are not full sizes as promised. I'm happy with what I received, but I do hope that Yogi Surprise can step up their game next time they release a LE box.
