unboxing : The FIRST Ever Yogi Surprise shipment, October 2014 !

Omg, yay! My Yogi Surprise box is here!! This is a brand spanking new subscription box that delivers a monthly care package curated to nourish mind, body and spirit. I signed up as soon as I heard about it, and am so glad my first box is finally here!

Yogi Surprise
October 2014
unboxing

Cost: $44.95 + free shipping

Yogi Surprise shipped USPS Priority Mail 2-Day from Lake Oswego, Oregon. Originally,  they had kept saying the first box would ship on October 1st, but mine was shipped on September 29 and I received it today, October 2nd. Nooo complaints here obviously!

Here's a first look before I rip in! The welcome notecard is nice and on the back are details for the included items.

There are seven items in this box and I couldn't be happier with them!

Emmy's Organics Dark Cacao Macaroons 3 macaroons value $2.95
Veda Bar Pitta Bar 1 bar value $4

The macaroons are vegan, raw, gluten-free and gone because they were soo delicious! I haven't tried my pitta bar yet but it looks interesting and delicious.

Buddha Nose Awaken Deodorizing Spray 2 oz / 60 mL value $ 10

This spray is for both body and yoga mats. It smells so fresh and good, and I will be testing it out at yoga class tonight! I use facial towelettes most mornings, so these will go to good use!

This towel is a really neat idea, and really cute, too. It came with a 30% off coupon to order more, and I will probably do so. I love this candle, it smells great and should burn up to 12 hours. I'll keep the tin afterwards too to stash little treasures in :)

Teatulia Premium Organic Single Garden Tea Medley Seven tea bag sampler value $7.49

I loove tea, so most of these will be used (not a green tea fan). I like that it's a sampler, too, so if I don't like one I may still like the others.

Each month, Yogi Surprise gives subscribers the chance to win a yoga retreat. This month the retreat is in Playa Negra, Costa Rice. You better believe I'll be entering to win!

The retail value for Yogi Surprise's first box is $41.93 by my calculations. I had a 20% off coupon code, otherwise the value would have been slightly less than the cost. Still, I'm super happy with my box and will use everything, so it's a win for me!

Disclosure : I am not affiliated with or sponsored by any brand mentioned. This box was paid for by eco Beauty on eBay. All opinions are my own!

  1. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't what was in the Yogi Surprise subscription box. I guess I thought it might be yoga accessories like head bands and handmade yoga jewelry, maybe.a pillow sham for sitting on to meditate, maybe a CD with soothing music and positive affirmations for meditation or a guided yoga CD with soft music.I do like the spray and candles for meditation and yoga, however, I did not expect the majority of it to be a food box or I wouldn't have subscribed. Also, the boxes are usually worth more than what a subscriber would pay for the items at retail price, especially if they didn't like the items to begin with. It seems that customers are paying about the same price that the items go for retail price. I would think that the subscription company would not be paying retail prices but would get a drastically reduced price for the products due to the fact that it is a form of advertisement for these products. The potential of customers wanting to buy the businesses products is good as they have the chance to try them. I would hope that the next box is better than the first one or I'm going to have to cancel my subscription.. After all of the hype and waiting, this is quite a letdown..

  2. I totally understand what you're saying, Wendy! You get boxes like Popsugar with extremely amazing values, so that when you get a box like this that barely breaks even it can be a letdown. My assumption is that the profits from the box go towards paying that monthly retreat. For that winner, the box cost is worth it, but for everybody else it is not! Still, I do like everything and plan on sticking around awhile.
