unboxing: Birchbox October 2014

Let me put it out there that Birchbox is NOT an exclusively green beauty subscription but they do send out quite a few green brands, plus the price point and value is always good, their points system is the best, and I've been subscribing since long before I went green. That's three-ish years and I'm finally getting around to my first Birchbox unboxing!

Birchbox
October 2014
unboxing

Cost: $10 + free S&H if paid on a monthly basis, one month free for annual subscribers such as myself.

Birchbox ships Newgistics and is delivered by USPS. Mine was shipped unusually early this month, on the 1st, and I received it today. Someone was feeling creative with shipping labels this month, check out the "Two Thumbs Up" before my name :).

Birchbox ships a box within a box. I like using my boxes for gifting, stashing things in, etc.

This month's theme is enjoying new media but still taking time out for ourselves (and our new BB goodies!)

Wow, six items this month!

The Green:

Ellovi Vanilla Butter 0.34 oz value $2.53

It's like BB was reading my mind sending me ClariSEA and Ellovi; I love these brands! Macadamia Natural Oil is not a strictly natural brand, but their products are free of potentially harmful ingredients and the company does support some conservational efforts.

The not so green:

Unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable using any of these, but I will either pass these along or swap them for something more to my liking.

All together, I estimate my box to have a retail value of $34.43. Plus, the points I earned for purchasing the box, and the 60 points ($6) I will earn to spend in the BB shop for reviewing these items. BB values vary month to month, but this is definitely a really great month for me. I can't wait to use that Ellovi butter!

Disclosure : I am not sponsored by or affiliated with any brand mentioned. This box was paid for by eco Beauty on eBay. All opinions are my own!
