Auntie Elder's Immune Brew approx. 5 oz, by vol
A warming, immune boosting blend, delicious as a tea or syrup!
To make a decoction (tea):
Simmer 1 tablespoon of herbs in 1 cup of water for 15 minutes, strain well and enjoy! We like it with a touch of raw local honey.
To make a syrup:
Simmer 1 tablespoon of herbs in 1 cup of water; bring to a gentle boil. Simmer, covered for 45 minutes - 1 hour. Strain liquid from herb, discarding/composting the spent herb. Pour liquid back into cleared, uncovered pot and simmer down until liquid is approximately 2/3 of original volume; remove from heat. At this point, liquid will be flavorful, yet bitter. Add sweetener of choice (honey, maple syrup, agave, simple syrup...) to your personal taste and desired thickness, starting with a small amount. Bottle it up! Don't forget to label and date the bottle. Will last 1-2 months,  when refrigerated. We also suggest adding a touch of brandy or bourbon to extend shelf life.
Elderberries, cinnamon chips, orange peel, vanilla bean, Oregon grape root, cardamom seeds, rose hips
